Logo? ❌

In Dictionary.Com, Logo is defined as:

A graphic representation or symbol of a company name, trademark, abbreviation, etc., often uniquely designed for ready recognition.

However, not for the creative life of me could I have conceptualized what the logo for my Travel Blog should look like.

My favorite logo is the Nike logo. Simple and appealing.

You can find many logo design companies and individuals on the internet, but I wanted a more personal iteration.

I met with a friend, a graphic designer, over lunch, and told him about my dilemma. He promised to help and presented me with the logo below, which I used for a while on the blog.

It sufficed but I found it still lacked pop and punch.

In the meantime, I was getting ready to remove my travel Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/Come-With-G-526185314427681/ ) from cold storage and the need for a logo became even more urgent for its launch.

I couldn’t have met over lunch with the person I solicited for the design as he lives in Trinidad and Tobago and we only interacted with each other in cyberspace. Nonetheless, he felt that he knew me sufficiently enough to design a suitable logo.

He scoured my Instagram (@comewithg4649) photos and he noted one common thread, which was, that I often wear a fedora, therefore it would be mandatory to have a fedora in the logo.

From there the ideas kept flowing. We discussed colors, blog name placement, whether we should use a stamp or a globe as the main icon. He sent me a few samples.

We eventually settled on a logo incorporating the name of my Blog and Facebook Page, “Come With G“, the fedora, a plane flying around a globe. He tried to fit the names of all countries in the “G” (get out your magnifying glass and search for your country). I wanted it to be simple yet unique.

What do you think of the logo? Is it compatible with the Blog and the Facebook page? Do you have any suggestions for improvements?
