The decor in the common areas and the rooms of Chuquiragua Lodge, Michacha, Ecuador was interesting. Even though I have never lived in South America, I felt like I was taken back in time to the days of independent granjeros and campesinos.
Taken back to a time where skillful craftsmen made our furniture, where we ate what we grew and stayed home and entertained ourselves.
Below are some of the period pieces I captured during my stay.
Wooden cart wheel chandelier
Piano, candelabrum and gramophone
Sewing Machine
Wall photos of costumes from different regions
Radio
Record Player
Telephone
Camera
Chest of coins
Saddle
Horseshoe
Rancheros hats
Rum cask
Mill
Water pails
Patio
Water pump
As much as I enjoyed the colonial decor I felt more of the indigenous culture could have been incorporated.
I loved taking this trip back in time with you.

i must say, i’m a real sucker for the antique aesthetic you’ve shown. it’s giving me home decor ideas! especially the look of the piano and gramophone
